Sashwat Borah, who goes by the stage name of Prim4l, grew up around music in different forms in his hometown of Guwahati. He started playing the keyboard at the age of 7 itself, and then went on to play the tabla and drums. His musical journey was inspired by his love for Avicii’s music which lead him to remix a couple of his mainstream pop songs, and slowly and gradually after tons of efforts, Sashwat started producing and composing originals, and making his own music at the age of 16. His initial trakcs were heavily inspired by his idol, Avicii, and hold a sentimental place in his heart but recently he’s been experimenting and has tried to play around different genres.
The new track “Ruk Ja” was released on the 14th of May 2021. “The song has a very Electro-Indie vibe. The vocals are inspired by Indian Classical music, and are sung by Saurabh and Smriti,” said Sashwat. The song is about a quarell among two lovers, and how both of them want to make up and just be the happy people they were before it all started. It took them almost 2 months to complete the track. While the Artwork is made by Sashwat the track was recorded across the country, in Guwahati, Delhi, and Mumbai.
Today at 20, he starts his day waking up around 7 am, wearing earphones, doing cardio for an hour, and getting to his online classes after which he spends the rest of the day with music. His preferred Instruments being the drums and tabla, which he can’t do without his Headphones, phone, Laptop, MIDI Keyboard, and food, of which he relishes Lobster the most. He wishes to collaborate with Chris Martin in the future.
