Polymancer’s new single ‘reality’ is a dark, yet hopeful R&B ballad

After his first dream pop EP ‘Dream Caching‘. Garvit Narula aka Polymancer is back on the scene with the debut single from his upcoming EP, titled ‘reality.’ Released on April 4, 2021, the new track takes a dark turn in the form of an R&B ballad. It talks about wishful thinking and avoiding life and its circumstances because they didn’t turn out the way you wanted them to, losing your mind because of it. However, as the lyrics progress, the theme changes to optimistic and Garvit accepts the fact that life doesn’t stop when something goes wrong, in fact, there is so much more out there for us to find and explore.

The music is as dark and mellow as the lyrics and have an aura of vulnerability surrounding it. Polymancer does not adhere to the classic pop structure of music but ebbs and flows with an ambient theme. He writes, “Out of mind, out of sight

That’s how I feel things should be. Memories been filtered like tea spilling on your shirt.” Garvit tells us that this track is the beginnning of a new chapter in his musical journey as he plans to move toward more unconventional dream pop tracks.

The Bangalore-based artist first picked up the guitar at the age of 7 and has been involved with music since then. He began learning about electronic music and producing own in 2018 and has not looked back since. He has been inspired by artists like M83 and Eden but also takes cues from pop artists like Sia and Billie Eilish.
