Delhi-based singer-songwriter Dr. Rajesh Anuragi, aka Anuragi, is making waves in the Indian music scene with his unique blend of soulful acoustic and rock songs, infused with Hindi and Urdu lyrics. An accomplished medical postgraduate with an MD from Banaras Hindu University, Anuragi has never strayed from his first love: music.
With four albums under his belt – Nishaani (2013), Zaher (2015), Aazadi (2018), and Lockdown (2020) – Anuragi has gained recognition for his powerful storytelling and socially conscious lyrics. His song “Ae Watan” was included in the official songs of the Indian Air Force in 2018, and his album Aazadi raises a voice against social stigmas and stands up for truth and justice.
On stage, Anuragi ignites the stage with his band of talented musicians: Avinash Gautam on lead guitar, Sahil Bajaj on bass guitar, Trey Wilhite on keys/harmonium, Surya Singh on drums/percussion, and Anuragi on vocals and rhythm guitar.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Anuragi is a traveling enthusiast, having explored the beauty of India’s nature and culture since his first trip to South India in 2008. He also spreads his reach to humanitarian works through his NGO, “Aao Milkar Karen Madad”, which focuses on educating underprivileged children in nearby rural areas.
Anuragi’s latest single, “Jogi”, is a standout track from his upcoming album Safar. The song is a personal reflection of Anuragi’s own journey in life, and it showcases his ability to infuse peace, love, and romanticism in his music. Produced by Anuragi and recorded in various studios across India, “Jogi” is a testament to his commitment to his craft and to the growth he experiences through his travels.
As he continues to make music that resonates with audiences and gives voice to important causes, Anuragi is a force to be reckoned with in the Indian music scene.
