“Nothing can come close to being as a good a getaway as music is for me.” quotes Arnav Maggo, a singer/ songwriter from Delhi who is based in Dubai. He started playing the guitar when he was 13 and ever since then, it has been his nylon string guitar that has helped him write his story. During his time at New York University, he immersed himself in a ton of music and worked on finding his voice. Reaching a point where he started to lose his identity and felt like where he was watching himself from the outside and witnessing his transformation.
His latest track “Its Hard Staying Apart” released on 15th November, 2020 is the first of a series of singles that detail a transformative journey, it’s about finally noticing an unhealthy circular pattern in a situation, realising the need to break out of it but disappointed when all attempts to do so fail. He came up with the song when he was practising fast strumming on different chord progression and he landed on one that sounded particularly good to him, after which he let the music play within his head and created the melodies on it.
Written, arranged and performed by Arnav Maggo, this song is inspired by Radiohead, Mumford & Sons, Dire Straits, Coldplay among many other artists that helped him find his sound. The art work was done by Gaurav Bambral. Written, arranged and performed by Arnav himself, It’s Hard Staying Apart was recorded in Headroom Studios, Philadelphia and mixed in Dubai. It has received appreciation from his current audience and Dr. Palash Sen of Euphoria who called it “excellent and fresh”.
