Achint Maniar aka #BBC is a future bass producer born in Kanpur. He moved to Chicago in 2013 and has been playing gigs across the Chicago land area since the past 7 years. He began experimenting with music at age of 13, playing at friend’s birthdays and college fests, trying to understand what makes people move. He’s now been part of the club scene for the past 15 years. His music has a vibe quite similar to melodic dubstep artists like Illenium, Gryffin and Seven Lions. Not surprisingly, these are some producers he takes inspiration from.

BBC’s latest single – In Your Ocean – features vocals by Amber Skyes and has a tropical vibe to it. Most of the music video is shot on the beach, with the waves being the prime focus. The lyrics talk about love and loss, creating a heart-wrenching narrative about an almost-there love story with the girl torn between staying or leaving. The struggle of one-sided love is probably something we can all relate to in some part of our lives. The track took about 2 months to produce and Achint says he enjoyed collaborating with an established singer/songwriter.

During the day, BBC works as a mechanical design engineer. He’s also installed a digital audio workstation in his office so that he can put in some time for music when inspiration hits at unexpected times. He tells us that one of his most memorable gigs was at the 99th floor of the Willis Tower in Chicago. He named Lost Stories as one of the Indian artists he’d like to collaborate with. If you’re someone who listens to a lot of melodic dubstep, future bass and tropical house music, here’s an artist whose work deserves your attention for sure!
